Discipleship is a very important part of the ministry of CrossRoads, and our small groups are the vehicle we use to equip the congregation with the tools to grow in Christ and to reach out to those around us. There is a variety of times and subjects and we hope that you can find one that can be of interest and also helpful.

community ministry

our missional activities

At CrossRoads, we know that to really be like Jesus and to be the effective force that can help change lives and the city in which we live, we must be actively involved with those whom we live around, work with, and learn together. To be the body of Christ that we believe Jesus wants us to be; we are involved in these activities…
Carnival — each August we invite our community to a fun day that also includes a silent auction.
Egg Hunt — the Saturday before each Easter Is a day that we hide over 10,000 eggs and invite the kids from our communities to have a fun family day.
Community Garden — this will be our second year to be involved in growing and providing food to help area residents, homeless, local blessing boxes ministry, Florence Crittenton home, and The Topeka Rescue Mission.
Florence Crittenton — our church has had a relationship with this ministry for about 10 years, this year they will begin working alongside of us at our community garden.
Fall Festival — In either October or November, we go out to our land at 41. & California and just have night of fun; we take hay rides. play games, roast hotdogs over a fire and end the evening with s’mores! This is a great time to introduce friends to a great church.
Baskets of Blessings — these baskets are prepared so that when you see a neighbor or coworker in need of some encouragement; you can take them a basket that will bless them. They are available in the back of the room.
Aged out Foster Children — we have seen the situation of those who turn 18 and are a part of the foster child program; at Christmas we do our best to provide a “Christmas Gift” to some of these kids who don’t have a lot and hope to expand this to a year-round ministry.
The Topeka Rescue Mission — not only do we make a monthly financial donation to this ministry, we also donate food, and other items to them several times a year. This is a very important ministry for our city and we are honored to support their efforts.
Over Seas Missions — our church helps support 2 missionary families at this time, they are both serving in the Czech Republic right now and God is working through them and us.
