Have you ever taken a trip and as you were getting tired or cramped, you realized you were almost home, the thought of being home gave you just enough energy, hope, or resolve to push through for just a little while longer – because home was just a few miles away. I think that’s what I’m going through right now with our building project, it’s been a long hard ride with twists and turns that we didn’t expect but God has seen us through and we are just a few weeks from being “HOME”.
God has taken us on a journey through a time when our church has seen a pandemic try to shut us down, building delays that discouraged us at times, and we are ready to be home! But with being home comes the knowledge that we have to go back to work, take care of all the stuff that having a home makes us responsible for. It’s almost time for us to start reaching a new neighborhood, to figure out how we are going to make disciples that make disciples and realize that our part of building God’s kingdom can’t be put on hold anymore. Not that we haven’t been trying, but, when you don’t have a home it’s hard to come together and reach out as a church body – well that is almost not the case and I think we are ready to go to work and see what God has been preparing us to do.
Hope to see you soon, come home,
PD
